The journey began in 2015, when Bec Mason discovered a beautiful old 1880s building in the heart of Creswick. With its grand triple-fronted bay windows and original bluestone porch, it was love at first sight. Bec knew, without a doubt, that this Farmer’s Wife had found her place.

And so the story begins…

With a background in interior design, Bec has always had an eye for beauty. Her romantic style, shaped by a whimsical take on life and a love of the unexpected, steered her away from trends and toward timeless, thoughtful design. She went on to work as a homewares buyer in the retail industry, deepening her love for products, merchandising, and the magic of storytelling through space.

One rainy afternoon, after mushrooming in the pine forests of Creswick with her much-adored Farmer, she stumbled upon that charming old store and began dreaming of all the wonderful things she could bring to life in this little country town. The rest, as they say, is history.

What began as one small boutique has since grown into three beautiful stores, each lovingly designed and curated with care, alongside a thriving online shop. Today, The Farmer’s Wife is a destination for beautiful, feminine fashion, a place known as much for its warmth as it is for its style.

Stepping into The Farmer’s Wife is an experience in itself. Each store is a whimsical, inviting space, filled with unexpected details that catch the eye and spark the imagination. Soft, warm lighting encourages you to linger. Elegant chandeliers cast a gentle glow. Vintage armoires and ladder wall displays showcase thoughtfully chosen collections. Underfoot, plush rugs soften your steps, while every corner offers something new to discover, a fabric, a colour, a texture, a feeling.

Still proudly family-owned, Bec now works alongside her daughter and granddaughter, continuing to grow The Farmer’s Wife with the same values it began with, heart, family, and a deep love of beautiful things.
